Let's be honest for a second: We tend to casually toss out our online order boxes after we're done with them—they just stack up in the corner, waiting for their inevitable fate in the landfill. And next to those towering empty shells? There sit all our unwanted clothes and accessories, everything we’ve been meaning to donate but never found the chance. Let's stop doing this and find this clutter a new home, while doing a little good in the process.
This holiday season, Bonobos is working with Goodwill®, powered by Give Back Box®*, to make it easier to donate your unneeded clothing and goods. After you receive all your Bonobos fits, you can now repurpose your box as a donation container, free of charge. This will not only help reduce landfill waste, but you will also be providing support in your local community for job growth and training services. That will feel pretty good, right? Right.
Where is your donation going?
The boxes are routed directly to the nearest participating local Goodwill organization.
Is there a weight limit on how much you can put in the box?
No, there is no weight limit or how many boxes you can send, so stuff it to the brim.
How much does it cost to donate?
To make donating your unwanted items as convenient as possible, all shipping is prepaid and completely free of charge.
What can you send?
Any household items, such as clothes, shoes, and jewelry are appropriate. Goodwill cannot accept electronics, any liquids, fragile, hazardous or volatile items, or ammunition in any boxes.
How do you ship the box?
You can ship your donation like you would normally ship boxes through UPS or USPS. Shipping UPS? You can locate the nearest participating location at theupsstore.com/locations or call (800) 789-4623. Shipping USPS? You can place your box on your door step for the local carrier or take to your nearest post office location. You can ship from any states within the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.
What happens to the items you donate?
Donated items are sorted and sold by Goodwill. The revenues are used to help fund community-based programs, including job training, employment placement services, and support services such as financial education and transportation.
Can you get a Tax Deduction receipt?
Yes. All you need to do is create an account with Give Back Box. Using your tracking number, you can itemize your donation online. You may also choose to itemize the items you are sending in the box. Once your donation has been accepted and processed, you will be notified with a receipt of the donation via email. Please note that the receipt will not be available until your donation has been received by Goodwill.
